um3detroit is an interdisciplinary gathering that brings together researchers, educators, students, and community partners — from across the University of Michigan campuses and Detroit-based organizations — to share and strengthen our connections to Detroit and each other.

um3detroit 2017

The inaugural um3detroit event took place in May 2017 at the Ross School of Business in Ann Arbor. The program for the 2017 event can be found here.

The second event took place in May 2018 on the U-M Dearborn campus. The event featured a series of speakers, lightning talks, panels and posters. The program for the 2018 event can be found here.

The third iteration of um3detroit brought participants the Gem Theatre in downtown Detroit in May 2019. The day featured lightning talks, World Café discussions, and keynote addresses from Wendy Jackson of the Kresge Foundation, City of Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II.
